We have a current project of a 1966 Chevy C-10 fleet side pickup truck. On this classic Chevy truck restoration the body will be outfitted with Dynacorn fenders, doors, floors, cab corners, and rocker panels. The suspension is being upgraded with power steering and upgraded spindles from CCP (Classic Performance). This kit upgrades the ball joints and tie rod ends to the newer a 1973 – 1987 style. This kit also allows us to keep the 6 lug stock bolt pattern. In this hot rod truck we will be installing a Ram Jet 350 from GM Performance in front of a Muncie 4 speed. The interior will remain fairly stock, with an Ididit column and stock gauges. The paint will be a custom red from Speis Hecker. Follow the blog for more updates as this project progresses.
The Crew is getting into tearing down this Old Chevy truck. We are going to completely dismantle the body in order to strip all of the paint. The Cab will be separated from the frame along with the bed.
The old six cylinder engine has been removed to make way for the new RamJet 350. As you can the truck has been stripped of all it’s body panels. We will soon be stripping the paint and getting this old Chevy truck in the media blast room to see what we are working with.
We already can see that we will be install rocker panels, cab corners, and floor patches. Once we have it all stripped and sandblasted we will have a much clearer picture of the work that will need to be done.
This Chevy restoration will be progressing quickly over the next couple weeks. Check back for more updates as the progress continues.
