Precision Restorations just signed a new job for a muscle car restoration.  We are going to build a high horse, show stopping, 500+ horsepower out of this 1965 Ford Mustang.

We are starting to disassemble the Ford Mustang to get it ready for body repair and modification.

Alex is working on removing all the old components from the engine bay and getting it cleaned up today.

Alex is pulling the interior out of the ’65 Ford Mustang.

Alex is stripping the Mustang down to bare metal.  We are achieving this with a combination of chemical and mechanical stripping.

The hood and the fenders for the 1965 Ford Mustang are completely stripped.  You have to be careful when stripping a vehicle with a chemical stripper as it is very acidic and will give you a very nasty burn if it gets in contact with your skin.

Alex is still stripping the layers of paint off the Mustang.

One last new job in the shop!  This beautiful 1965 Ford Mustang GT is fully restored.  However, the last shop had some issues with the paint job that they put on.  The client has brought the vehicle to us to strip it down and repaint.

Larry is working on the necessary body repairs for the Mustang.

Larry has repaired and rustproofed the fenders and now he is working on the doors.

The repaired areas of the Mustang got primed today.

Alex has been repairing the spots on the Mustang that we ground down, where damage was found.  Next he will sand down the rest of the vehicle to get it ready for paint.

Precision Restorations has finished up welding the front framerails in preparation of the new Heidts system and installed the new front crossmember.

The fuel cell has been modified for the mustang and you can just barely see it.  And it still holds about 13 gallons!!

Progress has slowed down a little bit on this 1965 Mustang as we work to overcome a small problem with the torque converter.  However, the beautiful new wood steering wheel has been installed so I wanted to put up at least one photo.

Alex is putting the interior together on the 1965 Mustang.  The seats are in, the custom package tray is in, the custom center console is in, the radio is in the glove box and the brushed aluminum glove box door is on.

We painted the trunk of the 1965 Mustang with a black and aqua spatter paint to accent the blue paint.  Also the client has decided to go forward with a T-5 transmission swap which will get started shortly.
