Precision Restorations just got another new job. A Chevy 3800 with a 9 foot bed. This is a very rare truck and will be beautiful when it is done.
Disassembly is in full swing for the 3800.
The shop is at full speed on getting this 1949 3800 stripped down and moving towards the body department. For anybody that has not yet heard about this vehicle you will want to pay close attention. We are working with one of our clients to do a full frame of Restoration of this vehicle. We then plan to take it and sell it at the first ever Orange County CA, Barrett-Jackson auction in June. Keep watching this build, it will be great!
The Chevy continues on with Dan taking the cab and the engine off the frame.
Alex is blasting the frame for the 3800 to get it ready for paint.

Now that the frame is media blasted Alex is repairing any damaged areas on the frame before primer.
The frame is out of the booth and looks beautiful in a fresh coat of chassis black.
Ralph has started the repairs to the door for the 1949 Chevy 3800.

Jared is pulling apart the running boards for the 1949 Chevy to get it ready for media blasting.
The fenders, grille, running boards and wheels have been blasted for the ’49 Chevy 3800.
The wheels for the Chevy have been repaired and are in the paint booth getting primed. While that is being done Jared is working on the repairs to the front grille which is now blasted.
We primed the inner fender today and we are working on the repairs to the hood.
We are repairing the rust on the fenders for the ’49 Chevy 3800. All rust repairs that are done here are done will all new metal.

We are chopping the top on the 49 today.

Now that the chop is done they have moved on to replacing cab corners and cowl structure.
We finished the chopping cab for the 3800 and today we finished the sand blasting.
Now that the cab is blasted and primed we are working on installing the new cab corners.
Cab corners installed, cowl panels getting installed and we are working on repairing the bed sides.

The techs are starting to smooth out the body where repairs have been made.
The crossmember is getting set up on the frame for the 3100 today and the cab is getting primed now that all of the body work is done.
We have set up the front fenders and freshly primed cab on the frame. We are getting ready to test fit all the upgraded Heidts suspension.
The rear frame is finished for the 1949 Chevy 3800 and Chris is working on smoothing out the door frames.
Mike is working on welding the brackets on the frame for the 3800.
The frame is painted for the Chevy and the front suspension is installed. Also, today mike is working on getting the cab sanded down.
The team here at Precision Restorations is rallying to get the Chevy 3800 ready for SEMA. Chris and Mike are working on the chassis, the bed, the cab and the center console and Tobin is working on getting the fenders worked out. We also have Hayden working on getting the Mercedes seats for the truck recovered.
The team is finishing up the cab for paint and getting the hood of the truck ready for primer.
The door jambs for the SEMA truck are painted. It is hard to see it in the pictures, but the paint color is a maroon color with a copper pearl.
The gauges are test fit in the truck, the engine is test fit and the techs are working on building the wood bed.
