We just got back the 12 bolt posi rear end for the ’69 Camaro from the shop that narrowed it for us and Dan is ready to start reinstalling it and the 4 link suspension.
Even though classic car restoration is one of the main areas that Precision Restorations specializes in, hot rod fabrication is also something that we are very skilled in, and love doing. When working with a hot rod you are dealing with a client that is very passionate about his vehicle and wants to make it his own.
For this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Precision Restorations is installing an upgraded suspension system in the front and back. We only use the highest grade of parts for our clients and this vehicle is no exception. For the front of the vehicle we installed Global West upper and lower tubular control arms and QA1 coilover shocks. This will stiffen up the front of the vehicle and give the Camaro much better control around corners and at high speeds. For the rear of the vehicle we chose a Martz custom built 4 link and a narrowed 12 bolt rear end. These upgrades will allow the client to fit a 275 tire in the rear of the vehicle.
Precision Restorations is finishing the install of the custom suspension and narrowed rear for this 1969 Chevy Camaro. When installing upgraded suspension it is important to pick out quality parts. For our client that comes in the form of a custom built four link rear suspension from Martz performance. Four link suspension serves a couple of purposes for this vehicle. First it will allow us to adjust the ride height to a level that is perfect for our client. Second it will stiffen the ride up and allow better handling under acceleration. Finally, it allows us to remove the leaf springs and install a bigger rear tire. We matched this rear suspension with tubular upper and lower control arms from global west with QA1 coil over shocks. Finally to tie the car together we welded in Heidts subframe connectors. This upgrade ties the front subframe together with the rear frame. This strengthens the body and makes sure that it does not flex under power.
